Jennifer Schoolfield (Jen) is the founder of Bold Strokes Educational Consulting, where she partners with students, families, schools, and educators to help every learner thrive. With more than 20 years of experience in education, counseling, school leadership, and student advocacy, Jen is passionate about helping students with learning differences recognize their strengths and achieve meaningful success.

Jen earned her Master’s degree in Counseling Psychology from the University of San Francisco and has served as a school counselor, Director of College & Career Counseling, Assistant Head of School, Head of School, and most recently, Principal of a nationally recognized specialized program supporting students with dyslexia, ADHD, executive functioning challenges, and other language-based learning differences.

Her expertise includes evidence-based literacy instruction, executive functioning support, educational advocacy, IEP and 504 planning, ESA+ guidance, postsecondary transition planning, faculty coaching, and strategic school consultation. She is also pursuing Associate Level Orton-Gillingham Certification through the Key Learning Center in Asheville, further strengthening her commitment to structured, research-based literacy instruction for struggling readers.

Jen believes every child deserves to be seen for their strengths; not defined by their challenges. Whether teaching a student to read, helping a student build executive functioning skills, preparing a family for an IEP meeting, supporting a school team, or helping a young adult navigate college and career options, she brings compassion, expertise, and a collaborative approach to every partnership.

Originally from the East Coast, Jen spent nearly two decades in the San Francisco Bay Area before returning to North Carolina. Outside of work, she enjoys time with family and friends in the Blue Ridge Mountains, beach days, and cheering on the Tar Heels.
